Happy Father's day to all of you Dads.

Marty stopped by this afternoon with a grin on his face.  We have a sorta joke between us that whenever one of us buys something for ourselves, we manage to sneak one in for the other.  A couple of months ago he, Ben, and Luke were plowing fiber optic cable and were talking to a subscriber who happens to be an amateur knife maker.  He ordered the three of them custom knives and they are knockout pretty.  Little did I know that there would be one for me too!!

Mine and his holstered.  They are exactly the same size but the camera angle indicates otherwise.

He left forging marks, etc. on the blade for a nice touch.  It is 8670 steel @~59 RC.  Tough but it will rust if not cared for.  It is made for using, not looking.

My daughters and grandchildren accompanied me to Anna Maria yesterday.  My grandson is five and likes to fish.  I did not haul the boat down since we would only be there for a day.  He caught a small redfish, black drum, mangrove snapper, a couple of porgys and several pinfish off of the dock.  I took one of the pinfish and put him out as bait and we caught a respectable snook.  Too bad they are out of season and several neighbors were onlooking.

We had a good time.  If I could have gotten him out of the pool fast enough, I'd let him catch the snook.  It was just shy of 34".

Awesome tools you have there. I may be late, but I hope you had a great Father's day.
