Good morning all.

At last winter has arrived in Scotland. It's down to -5c now and it going to be cold for the next few days.
Just in time for a big order for cladding boards.
Can anyone give advise about milling frozen wood?
Are different blades required? Lubricant? In fact any tips will be gratefuly received.

Thank you.
Silverfox.

I had a thread going called "Frozen Millers" back in 2022 that discussed this, a search on the sawmill board should be able to find it. Had some helpful info in there (and some comedy too.) ffcheesy

I think Jeff said it best.
Frozen wood cuts good.
But when it's not froze all the way through is where problems can happen.
Meaning some of the wood is frozen and some of the wood is not.

I run Woodmizer Turbo 7/39's for everything, but they really saw great for me in frozen wood.
