I got my mini bushog out this morning.  :wacky:
It's just a push lawn mower.
I keep an area cleaned up of any limbs and nothing less than 4 inches across is growing there.
I mow over any small limbs and try to chew them up. The more gets chewed up, the less I have to pick up.
Most times I am lucky if a mower last me a year.
I use to buy them at walmart in the fall for $80. Those days are long gone!!!
Now I stop and pick them up for free beside the road. Sometimes they run good and sometimes they are for parts.
I just picked one up a couple weeks ago. runs great!!!!
One wheel is at a bad angel due to the rust at one corner.
I have another base to put the motor on to.
I have tried to use the weed wacker, but the small limbs are a bother.
Looks real nice when I get done with the mini bushog.

I'm with you on picking up sticks, would rather just grind them up with the mower tractor.
On occasion a stick too large and solid will bend a blade, but not often. Then I change out the blade for a used straight one.
Once a year I change out all three blades for a new set.

Anything of any size I pick up and throw where I just mowed.
Them inch one gets run over. Some will get chewed up and some will not get picked up by the blade.

I use a 60" John Deere mid-mount finish mower under a 1999 John Deere 790 compact tractor. The deck raises about 8". In really rough areas I keep the bucket down to warn of stumps. All 3 spindles are original. It does a nice job as long as I mow several times each summer.

It has to be a pretty big stick for me to pick up.

I use a Scag with a 67" deck and mow at 3.5" so I go over most sticks.

when I mow my walking path around my field I use a flail mower on my tractor.
It will mulch sticks into very small pieces

I use a Swisher 42" rough cut mower now pulled by the RTV Kubota. Much better than the ATV I used for years, water cooled vs. air cooled and it has a cup holder...
Try to keep the roadsides mowed back, trails maintained, and general clean-up. Works well on large stem weeds and brush, not so well on grasses, tough little machine. Probably 30 yrs old, still chugging along...

I found another mini bushog free beside the road yesterday.
Looked the ones I use to pay about $80 for years ago.
This is the one that the handles don't fold down and the wheels are not adjustable and it's 3 1/2 hp.
The base looked good on it, so I took it.
Brought it home and put some gas in it, push the primer about 10 times and pulled it over real slow about 3 times and the third time it was running!!!!
Looked like it was not used much at all. Very clean under it and blade looked new.
I used for about a 1/2 hour.
Needs an oil change and it will be good to go.
