I was asked yesterday if I would cut some cherry logs for a well established circle mill just a few miles away from me. They heard I have a Peterson. Seems they have several cherry logs that are 6' long and they can't cut shorter than 8'. I'll be going to do it in a few days. They will load them with the forklift and tail out, all I do is the fun part. I like this. They said they will be calling me every few weeks to clean up any too short or too long for them, they can only cut 8'-18', I can cut shorts and up to 20' now, may add more track if they have enough longer demand to be worth it. I presume the too long is only if they have a need for the longs otherwise they do have chainsaws, since part of the corp. is a logging division. They only do hardwood. I might be able to pick up some hemlock that they might get in on a load, it probably happens from time to time.
logging small time for years but just learning how,  2012 36 HP Mahindra tractor, 3point log arch, 8000# class excavator, lifts 2500# and sets logs on mill precisely where needed, Woodland Mills HM130Max , maple syrup a hobby that consumes my time. looking to learn blacksmithing.

Glad to hear some jobs can come to you!
I have some jobs from big mills who have some logs that are too big for them to cut. This one mill can only cut up to 36" and want us to cut anything over that for them. My dad had to contact them though. But I was thinking you may want to suggest that to them while you are there cutting the short stuff for them.
