Went to an auction last week for a cabinet shop and only bought one thing, well one big thing finally got myself a unisaw. 5 years old next month. Came with a delta tenoning jig, 52 inch bessy fence, new cmt 80 tooth blade bunch of inserts, feather boards  and a moblie base

Here it is in its new home just finished up the storage cabinet today. Good thing since the shop was a mess. Paid $1160 for it with the buyers premium.

Sold the rigid saw the same night to a guy from the sale for $300. The wife just started talking to me agin today :D

You may be bad, but you are sure lucky and got a good deal. That is an awesome saw combination for a shop.

Your wife didn't have to give up a room for it, did she?   :o

hmmm I don't think so, oh though she did say something about the saw cabinet being nicer than her kitchen cabinets  ::)

Good deal on the uni.  I was at a sale a few weeks ago and bought an older uni with a cast base and 3ph motor for 350.oo  Had a nice top hardly any rust.   3ph seems to make tool sell cheap.

Nice looking saw Quartlow! 8)   I have a Jet Cabinet saw that looks just like your Unisaw. In fact I think Jet must have copied the Unisaw design.

I like your idea of building cabinets under the table extension.  Does your cabinet just sit under the table or is it on casters?  Inquiring minds want to know.

I'ts on casters Charlie, I removed the factory legs on the extension table and cut a piece of mdf and covered it with that white hardboard.  The reason for that was since I rasied the the saw 4 inches the legs where a bit wobbly extended and I didn't want a block under that end. That also gained me about 1.5 inches of cabinet space since I mounted my end piece outboard and the origanal legs where inboard

Nice score! I have a 1946 unisaw and it still runs like a dream! Delta has changed very little since then. Seems they got it right the first time. ;D

That's a good deal for a Unisaw with all that extra stuff.  Figure on twice that if you bought it new with all the goodies.   I got my Unisaw three years ago for $800, it is a 3hp 1 phase that was new in the crate from 1995, the dealer was using it as a doorstop or something, anyway they were getting out of selling Delta and sold it cheap.  Nothing came with it though, so I've spent several $$ putting the router table wing on it, the fence, the dado blade. etc.    Still, wouldn't trade it for any other saw, except maybe an early-40's vintage Unisaw in factory new condition.   ;D

Quartlow

the ten dollar question is though, how many drawers do you see?

QuoteThat's a good deal for a Unisaw with all that extra stuff.

yeah considering this one was made in the states and not overseas. you can't even buy a saw anymore to my knowladge thats 100% american made. So that made it just worth a bit more in my book

Thanks for the infor Quartlow.  I see 4 drawers based on the pulls, but I also detect some fine lines that make me suspect there are more than 4. ::)

maybe if you build or at least reface the wifes kitchen she may incourage you to buy more equipment for your workshop???

just need to drop hints on what you think she would like done so that when she thinks of more work for you you can easily agree with her the need for these new additional tools!!!!

I know I could spend and spend on some of those quality and specialty tools just to have the tool.

Charlie
there are 7 drawers in it 1 across the top and 6 below

I don't need no excuse to buy tools. All I have to do is want and I'll find a way to get it  :) :)

You got a deal!  That is one nice looking setup.  I have an old Delta contactor's saw that I am building a wrap-around cabinet for.  I'll have more money in my setup when all is said and done.  I won't have half the saw.  Good Score 8) 8) 8) 8)
