I saw a man in North Dakota in June pulling a 30 ft bumper pull camper trailer with a big bowrider boat hitched to that.

I can't imagine trying to stop a good swing :o

My neighbor across from our farm just down the road tows his camper and boat all of the time.  I asked him if it was safe.  He said that he slows down and drives with some common sense and has not had any problems.  He did it to ge rid of having two seperate trucks for a trip.

The boys in North Dakota are used to running a combine with a 36 foot header.  That little camper trailer and boat are like nothing to him.  :o ::) ::)

If you meet a combine on a gravel road, guess who gets to back up!

I'm guessing not the guy double hitched, at least not far! :D :D

Nah, even the Dakota farm boys can't back a double hitch that far.  They get to drive down into the ditch. ;D

I pull my GN trailer with tractor on it and pull the sawmill behind the GN. I have brakes on both so stoping is not to big of a deal. Turning is fairly easy as the sawmill will only trac ablut 6" further over than the GN. The only time you run into trouble is when you miss your turn and go by the customers driveway, then you get to keep going till you find somewhere big enough to turn a big circle.
To my knowledge it is not against the law to pull tandum trailers as long as the lead trailer is a GN or 5th wheel. However this is like stunts on TV don't try this at home kids. You should have lots of time behind the wheel pulling both trailers alone and know how they react in different situations before pulling both at the same time.

Two trailers illegal in GA.

I just checked out that list and found out that I am a lawbreaker in a few states.  I have pulled a 5th wheel RV with small trailer behind it across most of this country from Ohio to New Mexico.  I see a few states between are listed as no on there.  Have been to and thru MI a couple times pulling double.  I would never pull a trailer behind a bumper hitch trailer but behind a GN or 5th Wheel works just fine.

I suspect that as long as your double trailer didn't cause a problem or be in a problem (traffic tie-up, in an accident, get a speeding ticket, etc.), that the 'law' wont kick in on you. But its a charge that could be added if 'needed' at the time.
Kind of like sliding through a stop sign. If nothing comes of it, no ticket. If an accident, there is a violation that can be cited.
