Got a horse logger friend who's horse Bob is the topic of an article in Draft Horse Journal.
He (not Bob) has been lurking here recently but "sensory overload" at the amount of info here has kept him from posting.
He's a Dang good guy, and rightfully proud of Bob
Anyone interested in horse logging and Moose skidding can take a  look here.

Great photos, I just had to see what moose skidding was. Makes total sense now cause I dont think m(any) of us could skid one. Well, welcome Bob!  Hopefully you can get that fella that walks around behindstya to join up and do some posting for ya.  :)
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Thanks for the link Karl, Bob is sure a good looking Belgian. I'll bet it took some doin to get him used to skidding moose.

I was sorta wondering how he would train a moose to skid :D

Whats amazing to me is that through the whole thing the Moose never seemed to wake up ;D

Just like some people, just easier to lay there and be pulled along, lettin someone else do the work.  :)

Great pics and scenery. Still seems a lot of work for the 'driver' keeping up with 'Bob' and staying out of the way of Mr. Moose, while watching where you step for your own good footing.  But a good way of moving them out, in one trip.

Are you into fall logging yet in N. Illinois?  Was thinking of looking in your gallery for some pics.   :)

I also was thinking you were using moose for skidding, untill I seen Bob in the photogallery you linked. ;D As a matter of fact they used to catch young moose and train them for packing and skidding in the woods. ;) I have a book with some photos, but they are copyrighted.
