Free trees in Detroit

It's becomming more interesting, because a 'source' of the subject has been traced to a meeting with this "Steve Leggat" where he did indeed ask for someone to take the 80,000 trees and maps would be available.  But a note from "Leggat" indicated the Forestry Dept. in Detroit had been 'shut down' due to budget woes.  Probably a well-planned ploy to get more fed funding into the coffers of Detroit. They play so many games with our tax money now it is pitiful.

So that may be part of the puzzle. Will keep you posted if I learn more.

It was just a post by Mr. Wengert posting the same information that beenthere had found. There was no other activity on that thread other then his post so I suspect monitoring of this thread caused that thread to disappear.

DanG!!! I was ready to head up 75 and pick up all that free money ;D
I'm working with the City of Toledo and you wouldn't believe the number of nail filled bananas I've had dropped off amongst the 50" 4 foot butts.  Taking the good with the bad and trying to educate them about whats worthwile. The biggest problem is they're use to cutting to 7' or less because its all that their splitter will take...oh for that last foot or so!
