Did a little sawing this weekend.

Had some friends up for a week. They were here when I got back from Moultrie.

They had been up looking at houses and for jobs.... More Floridians looking for a way out.

Anyway the ladies went garbage (oops I mean garage) sale'n on Sunday afternoon and Dave says... "how does that sawmill work?"   .....

So I drag up a log and we start cutt'n a little red oak log.... he was stacking the lumber with a big smile on his face....  when the log was all gone he says " I had no idea there was that much lumber in a little log" ....  "got any more logs?"   So I drag up another log and off we go again and again.  I haven't moved any more logs to the property yet so that was end of the fun.

We cut about 200 bf and 10 nails... I had to explain BF as opposed to how Home Depot sells it....

He is a HVAC tech and wood working nut so he was very interested in rigging up a small kiln in the garage at home.

They went home to see about hurricane damage, but I loaded as much of the oak on the roof of his van as I could.  ( I hid a bag of sawdust under the drivers seat too  ;D)  I'll be waiting pic's of the new table he is planning from the lumber.

Are we just dust pushers??  Dave is addicted for sure.  :D :D

Yep, we are dust pushers alright...

I was just told by Hector last week that we have about 10,000 BF in the old pigbarn. I can't wait to see what it looks like. I am trying to build up an inventory. It would be easier if we would quit selling it!

So, how did I end up here anyway?

Sounds like you had a good time Don.

Yep we're pushers.  I have a friend that buys lumber off of me that wasn't even a woodworker when I met him.  He came out to see the mill, asked what my price was for the lumber a few days later he asked if I had a planer that I would sell and bought 100bf of oak.  Talk about building a customer base the hard way.   Heck of a good friend now

Yep we're pushers :)  but it's not my fault they just can't say no.  What ya supposed to do let em go to the box store ;D

Yep, send'em to the Big Box.  Let'em price a little Red Oak plank there and they'll come back with their feet a'flappin' and their eyes a'poppin'. ;D

Hope that oak was covered on the van. I've heard some stories about the checking in Wind Dried lumber :D
