I thought some may be interested in seeing what 100,000 cocaine seedlings ready for transplanting look like.  This photo was taken from a few hundred feet up in an old Russian military helicopter.  All neatly grown in black bags.  A group of well equiped police dropped in and destroyed the whole thing.

Sure stands out like a sore thumb.  Good riddance.

Seems like when they're that obvious, it would be easy to track them down with satellite photography.

I have to agree it seems a bit strange that they are not picked out by satelite images rather than 25 year old Russian helicopters that only have a two hour fuel capacity when and if there is fuel.  This photo was taken about 11 minetes by a very overloaded helicopter from Iquitos, a city nearing half a million people.  Cocaine at this time is a booming business and a big portion of the economy.  Many lumber concession areas are simply to dangerous to enter as you do not know what or who you are going to run into.
