We got about 1/2" of snow this morning here in Dover, Minnesota (SE part of the state). The temps have stayed in the low to mid 30's this week. People north of here have gotten quite a bit of snow. I think it was St. Cloud that got about 6" last week. The Twin Cities has also gotten a few inches. It's real wet snow and doesn't last too long but I'm ready for Spring already!

CHARLIE You could go down and work the winter with Tom and not be cold.   I here he's got a can of pees a day in it for you!   :)

CHARLIE

Nope, 'cause he buys brand 'X' Generic peas with the white label and black block print. I'm holding out for Green Giant.

We had snow on something like Wednesday- it lasted in the shade til Saturday morning when we started with the present rain. They are predicting maybe as much as an inch. Mike's duck pond/sandhole actually has a bit of water in it. I'm holding out til next summer before I commit to clay or bentonite. I want to see what the 'natural' tendency will be. Don't want to fight any uphill battles.

Now that it's coming on time to throw out hay bales and have the heat on indoors, I'm going berserk about wanting to put in little indoor pools (well, only mildly berserk- haven't bought any kiddy pools yet). Ah well- the tropicals came in with the first hard frost (22*)- they landed in the laundry room, and I just put up lights for them. Now refurbishing the hot tub (still have a 110v heater/pump and I want a 220v). If I can get that little corner done it will be KEWL.

Speaking of the tropicals- the brugmannsia finally bloomed for the first time just after I brought them in- flower 1 1/2' long, lemon scent. I haven't ever been to Cypress gardens yet (maybe in January)- but I did succeed on this project after 2 years of trying. The little trees are about 2 1/2 to 3' tall, and have plenty more buds if they can tolerate the indoor clime.

I like Tom's kind better. I just stepped out of the house here in IL to flurries...good motivator, I'll be frailing nails tomorrow. Carry me back to old Virginny, I hear the Rochester quadrabog chomping at the bit :D.

Better hurry Don,  they are even predicting 20 degrees and snow in S. Mo. this week.  I still have one patch of alfalfa to hay if this drizzle will stop for a couple of days.  Of course, the only weather prediction that you can believe in this part of the country is "turning dark tonight but getting lighter in the morning".
