Mesquite Man

Hi all,

Here are more pictures of the tree on my deer lease.  Could it be Cherry??  I just received a Black Cherry log from a friend in Vermont and the bark between the 2 look very similar.

This is a picture of a broken branch I found.  Thought seeing the wood might help identify.

Close-up of the bark.

More leaves

closer picture of bark

Complete tree

Thanks everyone.

OK this may sound a little corny but after you saw the black cherry log you got from your friend go out and cut off a small branch with your pocket kniff and smell it. there are verry few woods that don't have thier owne very unique scent.

it does look like cherry

PS e-mail me a wiff I can smell a cherry for miles 8)

SM, when I was younger, I could smell 'em a long ways off too ;) but, getting back to that picture, yes, I say it is cherry too.
