Mr Mom

Does anyone feed there wild animals??
I went and bought some cracked corn and threw it all over the place for the turkey and deer.
Something ate it because the leaves are all mussed up.

     Thanks Alot Mr Mom

It is illegal to feed dear in this state.  Not that it stops people.
Together we got this !

Bro. Noble

Those leaves messed up sure sounds like turkeys :)

I think it's legal here to feed deer and turkeys,  but you're not supposed to bait them to hunt them,  if I'm not mistaken.  It don't make no nevermind to me anyway.  I don't feed the turkeys,  but my stoopid cows feed a whack of them :D :D

We don't feed the wild animals ('cept for a bird feeder).  My wife does throw away cracked corn in the front yard every now and again and I suffer from stolen pears, blueberries and grapes.  :)

Mr Mom

I never thought that it might be illegal to feed the wildlife.
Bro. Noble...I would never bait the animals that i hunt.
One time i was hunting on the farmers land behind my father house and smelled cimmion and apples here someone cook and hung the apples in a tree.

I did it for two reason one i thought that i might see some wildlife and to see if the turkeys scratching around would help with the brake down of the leaves.

     Thanks Alot Mr Mom

Here in the land of cheese and beer it is illegal to feed deer. We have been battling cronic wasting disease. Before that outbreak we were able to bait deer to hunt them. It has never been legal to bait turkeys. :( :( :( :(

It's too bad cuz it's nice to see them come into the yard at night when you are sitting on the deck enjoying a fine Wisconsin micro-brew  smiley_beertoast smiley_beertoast smiley_beertoast  ....or a fresh pot of Janet's fine shade grown organic coffee   ;D ;D ;D
Why not just 1 pain free day?

In NY the first restriction on feeding deer came a few years ago, restricting the distance from the road you were allowed to feed them, there was a concern over car/deer accidents.

Now that Chronic Wasting Diseas has been discovered, and they aren't really sure what makes CWD tick,  they want to minimalize deer congregating in feeding areas.  This is kind of a BS, since deer will naturally yard in winter, and be in pretty close contact with one another.

BTW For my fellow New Yorkers - Oneida County isn't the only place they found CWD, it was also found near a deer 'preserve' in the Adirondacks.

Now Tom, I thought you had a coon that you were feeding cat food to ???  ;D

Dana

Burlcraft, now that your state has CWD has the amount of hunting license's sold gone down? If you hunt, do you still hunt/eat venison?

Nah, Furgy, uh.., Furby, The cat is being fed the cat food.  The Coon is stealing it, and like most crooks who take their victims to court, is mad because there isn't any left.  :D

Don_Papenburg

The cure for CWD is to eliminate hunting permits and declare an oden season year around till the deer population os back to the19 50-60s  population.
