I've flown in a few DeHavillan Beavers on the west coast, as well as Twin and Single Otters. Not so fun in a strong head wind with heavy rain or in fog though.  One trip in a single Otter...well, thank goodness for seat belts and cargo straps, 3 hours in roller coaster headwind, 30 mins return. :o :D

Good looking saw setup .   Now go get yourself some cans of Alpine green paint and make that Detriot happy again.   And if you find a 3-53 lurking around let me know . I want one for my Diamond T pickup.

Thanks Lud , I have 2 dancin dogs too and when the one really has to dance it will stand outside my room and flop its ear's really loud and fast ,sounds like a helicopter  :D
S.D. isnt them planes built ruff and tuff  :D I see many repainted beavers average about 300,000$ today . If ya did hurl all they do is spray out with a garden hose , too bad the plane didnt smell like fish guts for ya  :D :D

Thanks Patty, I am sawing basswood that the tree service dumped 2 years ago when I missed the first pig roast , bark falls off most but I am now a basswoodaholic . Screws go in so good I sometime forget and end up comin out the other side  :D I had to bang together 8 end table/night stands because the furniture store wants 100$ each and made 2 kingsize headboards today because the furniture store told me 3 weeks after I ordered that the headboards I picked were no longer available  ??? I can see Patty's black walnut door&headboard factory real soon .  Everyone should troll through a new furniture soon and check the prices for some of that junk .  Now if I only knew how to build lamps for the night stands but tell guests to bring a flashlight instead :D  about 90$ for a basic lamp with lamp shade  :o
Thanks Don P , I will keep a ear open for a 3-53 .  It's been raining for 3 days here and I go out and saw out a pile and run back to the woodshop , its like sauna in my little woodshop with the stove going and the moisture coming off these boards , definately will replace all this furniture with white oak or ash someday but I dont have anything dried and everytime a board falls off the saw I got like white foam around my mouth as I holler out "free wood" yippee !   :D  Never had so much fun , I dont go fast but it dont take very long to have a 3 foot tall pile of boards   ;D  Alpine green , 10-4  8)

Those are good looking night tables , a lamp aint all that hard to make .. ya need a few antlers , a discarded lamp that someone had no use for  ;D  a drill bit et voila une lampe   ;D  Or ...  a tripod from a tree will do also .

I made  this one in no time at all , I did buy the lamp shade at a box store but the plan is to make one out of birch bark , but the bark was not peeling when I made the lamp .

Thanks alot guys ,, but really aint nuttin to making them , a tripod , an old trow throw away lamp that someone dont want anymore for parts and a drill is all it really takes or in this case a couple of antlers picked up last fall while hunting .
We often get side tracked on this forum , but it all comes down to having fun , making money , saving some , eating well ;D and making and seeing cool things done by others. Wether it is related to wood or not dont bother me , I really enjoie seeing what every body else is doing and making , this lamp is the perfect example of that ... In it self has nothing to do with forestry .. but ...  I was walking in the forest when I found the antlers    ;D

UB ..  I would like to see some pics of the head board your making

Marcel you or anyone never has to worry about getting off the subject in any of my threads ever . I think that's part of the magic of being here ! 8)
Heck I am still searching for a 10" clear tube so Jeff can make a aquarium in a stump  ;D

There is the picture of 2 kingsize headboards sawed the other day from 2 year old junk basswood with the bark falling off and laying on the ground . Just a quick solution for now and I will replace them with dry hardwood this winter . I was so excited that when I got done slamming these together I realized I forget to shove them through the planer  :D

Tomorrow I am going to cut a whack of posts for making lamps or as I will call them "Lampe du Marcel"  8)

Take a belt sander to um and leave some tooth marks on there .. it will look really good . I like the white and brown on there , All I would do to them is sand them with the belt sander and put a 45 around the edge with a router .

A man on a mission .  8)  How tall does he need the tube ... I am sure that I can get that here from the plastic forming shop ....  :)

Isawlogs,  You can get clear plastic  cylinders in the ten and one half inch diameter size ?  I don't know what that converts to in Canadian.  The largest ones that I can find are less than ten inches .  I could use a couple if you can get them . Let me know  cost and sizes you can get.
