I'm looking for advice on what kind to buy if any of you folks have a favorite.

If its for a tablesaw I'd recommend an old style delta cast iron. If its for timber framing I have no idea.

Sorry didn't even think of it being for timberframing, it's for a table saw.

I would highly recommend the old fassioned delta tenioning jig, Its heavy cast iron and extremely rigid. They are boat anchors and dang dear indestructable. Look on ebay I've seen several on as time has gone by.

The newest delux delta jig is pretty nice and the Grizzly is pretty nice as well. None beat the original delta though.

Good luck!

Under monetary duress ;D I sold a made in the USA Delta jig with a vintage Unisaw few months go.  Plan was to replace it with the first import that came up on sale...no matter the color.  Looks like they all come out of the same factory with few minor tweaks.  So as it turned out that was Grizzly green.  Took a little while to go through the alignment procedure and one of the holes wasn't tapped completely through...quick touch with the Dremel fixed that.  Works better than my old Delta.  I've cut well over a 100 tendons with it so far.

It also irritates me to no end seeing a green import on top of my made in the USA Unisaw...guess that's what I deserve for getting greedy. ::)

FWW did a test on em few months go...iffen ya don't subscribe I can get the magazine and see what they called the best.

I saw that test, I think the delux delta got best overall and the grizzly got best value. I think...

I have the Delta. Very nice tool that is very easy to use and adjust. Never tried a Grizzly but FWW usually gives you good info on equipment.

Thanks folks, I've got it narrowed down to the delta.  :)

Next on my wish list is the multi-router that David Marks uses on woodworks...ahhh so many tools so little money. :D

I've been thinking about making one of those, It looks like an easy tool to make using the linear bearing alternatives that the homemade CNC routers use (skate board bearings, 1 inch angle and 3/4 inch gas pipe)

I sure could put a toy like that to some serious work.
