Over engineered?

Over engineered.. possibly...
Going to fall apart.. not in this lifetime :D

OK, so Lil wanted a baby changing table, and I wanted a new fish tank stand, and I had this scrappy pine laying about the shed. So yes making a baby change table out of 8x2s might be a bit excessive, but it's going to hold up any sensible sized fish tank once the baby has outgrown it ;D

But wait.. there is more....

Lights for the lower fish tank are built in and wired already.
The holes in the front panel are finger grips for removing the whole piece, to feed the fish etc. And the hidden switch is set so it can be turned on/off through one of the holes.

Anyway.. thats what my shed time has gone on lately

I'm quite proud of the drawers too, they even open and close smoothly on hardwood runners.

Still needs to be finished with some nice baby / fish proof poly.
Hmm.. what next?

Very nice work. You know the Baby is gonna grow up and need a desk.
You can make different sizes as they grow bigger. :D

Ianab, I like the thought process in the design! Now that is thinking ahead! Lil can even put the baby on the lower shelf, turn on the light and stand back for a bit of admiration! ;D Another fine job!

or you could put a tanning light under there and have a baby tanning bed :D 8) lol
perhaps she can use it for baby inspection under the light for those dirt hiding places.

Yup, cot is done already

No 8x2s in the cot construction though. But it's build from bluegum eucalyptus, think slightly heavier and harder than white oak and you will get the idea. ;D
