I've over-looked (so much as the thought of) seeking pain relief from a chiropractor; I went a few weeks ago and he made some adjustments to my L/B and neck that eliminated the pain in my L/B; sciatica-pain that I've been dealing-with for 2 decades +.

GI retiree insurance (TRICARE) doesn't cover it, and the VA won't provide it to me, so I'm going out of pocket.

I decided to go once a month; neck still needs some attention (darn rough terrain jumps ;D), off to visit them today!.

I had given up all hope; now a believer.

Get a inversion table and use it a couple times a week.

My advice on aging gracefully... ride fast bikes and date faster women, drink good tequila, practice your draw daily, be honest and fair in your dealings, but suffer not fools. Eat a hearty breakfast, and remember, ALL politicians are crooks.

I'm a believer too.

My wife (veterinarian) was not a believer until she had an animal chiropractor adjust our three legged dog Pete.  He was hit by a truck when he was a young pup and his back pelvis was damaged and one leg amputated.  We fostered him during his rehab stage and ended up keeping him.

If Pete runs or plays too hard he will torque something out of place in his hind end and be in pain for several days.  After an adjustment by the canine chiropractor he is like a new dog.

Animals don't have any psycho-semantic issues; all that they know is that it either hurts or it doesn't.  When my wife saw the immediate impact that a chiropractic adjustment had on Pete it made her a believer to the point where she went back to school to get her canine and equine chiropractic degree.

I need to try it, got into an argument last week with one of my cows that was trying to kill her new calf and managed to throw my back out.  Worked at the sale barn yesterday and it was a looong sale, basically walked on cement for 8 hours straight, I couldn't wait to be done and just sit down!  This morning it was all I could do to put my socks and jeans on, and I have been wearing a good back brace  :-\.

Yesterday's visit was equally-productive; they zap me with some kind of pulsating electrode "thingy" for thirty minutes while a weighted heating pad loosens my back muscles.

Then the guy comes in and finds things that my muscles pulled out of alignment, then he puts them back.

Made two more appointments. 8)

Hope you continue to find relief, finding the right one is the trick, been using one for years, jammed my neck once getting into the van, heard the crack and felt it too, it was followed by a steady running nose, after one adjustment the sinus cleared up and the stiff neck relaxed,
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

Aches and pains on my carcass remind me of a now hidden fungus I picked up in the Western-Florida swamps  ::).

Clear it from one spot and it shows up someplace else....

Knee hurts for two weeks, then a foot starts hurting as soon as the knee feels better.  ???

Some say knee pain can be a side affect of back adjustments as the legs may be a different length from one another.

Arnica pills and cream, Magnesium Oil, High PH fluids & Mineral Ice keeps me mobile.

On the same line of alternative medicine.
Had never been a believer in acupuncture until it was done on a dog by our vet 15 years ago.  Now both the wife and I both use it.
The doc was trained in China and her father and his father before were traditionally trained Chinese acupuncturists which meant they were both western medicine and acupuncturist trained.  Best of both worlds.

There is an alternative chiropractic method called atlas orthogonal which is different than the cracking of joints style.  I am interested in the atlas orthogonal style.  Has anyone tried it?
