A friend gave me three of these saws that didn't run.  One was only a year old and has a 32 inch bae.  His employee used a container to mix gas that had detergent in it.  I took it apart and cleaned it and replaced the carb with one from the other saw.  Started right up and runs fine.  Questions: I've had Poulan saws before and they were good "throw away saws" that I didn't mind kicking around.  What can you tell me about these 505's?

I use two of the 505s and know that they are cuttin' machines. They both had 24" bars but I put a 20" on one. A little on the heavy side but they block logs up pretty fast. If you decide they are "throw aways", throw them my way.
If you're honest you don't have to trust your memory.

Stumpy , it's a 5 cu in  (83cc) , 14.9 lb powerhead that if I remember correctly is a Partner design . There is a little information on acresinternet.com . A illustrated parts list can be found on outdoordistributors.com     Scott

Always wanted a 505, but never found a decent one.
I cut my teeth on the magnesium cased poulans and they were alot better saw then the name brand homeowner saws.
If its a good one in decent shape and can be restored and you dont want to toss it ,but sale it someday, pm me.

They are a Partner design - the first model in the "family" was the P7700.

The PP505 is the same saw as the Jonsered 2083 (not 2083II).

The engine is 82.4 cc, and 4.2 or 4.3 kW (according to different sourses).

Is it allowed to post a link to AS here ???  - there are a decent tread there, about this saw "family".

Information collector.
