Walnut but what kind?

What little walnut I've worked with, I haven't had any problems between the sap and heartwood.  It is pretty stable.  Just sell the sapwood as butternut.   ;)

Yeah but, butternut has almost no sapwood. So I say stain it, and get a better price anyway. ;) ;D

I think it would make a really cool door panel if I could get a board that was almost all sapwood, with just a thin stripe of heartwood down the center  :)
