Thought you guys might like to see my new PC that I've just completed. The case is built from local timber and tinted perspex. 2 photos attached, 1st is just a trial assembly and 2nd is completed, varnished and running. Size is 7" tall x 8" wide x 9"deep. Using at is my DVD and CD player at the moment, and off course reading the Forum...

Kewl....

I thought about doing something like that. I also thought about putting a flat panel LCD in a wood enclosure also.

What did you use for a motherboard? With that size enclosure there can't be much room for expansion.

Techie computer specs are... Via Epia mini system board. It has everything you need built in, Video, sound, network etc and has a low power 800mhz cpu on it. PC has a 40gb hard disk and 256 mb ram, and you are right... there is no expansion slots available in my case, but there is nothing I need to add.

No problems with cooling?
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

No problems with cooling, cos the Via C3 CPU only puts out about 10-15watts, and the back of the box has 4 x little 2 inch cooling fans, 2 blow in, 2 suck out..

Cool as  8)

What would that cost to put together? (considering exchange rate)

Speaking of which, I heard that Canada is in complete support of the USA in Iraq. They have agrred to send 50 navy vessels, 20,000 troops and 100 aircraft, but after the exchange rate it turns out to be a canoe, 2 Mounties and a flying squirrel.  ;)  Maybe  I should go post this on that world humor thread. :D

Think our contribution would be similar.. except we dont have any flying squirrels!!!!

But in NZ $.
system board and cpu $250
hard disk $175
DVD $120
Power supply $74
Ram  $80
Fans, switchs and Leds, $100

Make that about NZ $800... US $400?

Monitor, speakers keyboard I already had, and whatever 2 bd ft of timber is worth
