I have a large square section behind the house that is all eastern pine, probably 100 trees that some one planted long ago... I was thinking of sawing some up for dimensional lumber to build a 20x30 barn/garage.. I'd use treated lumber for the poles and store bought trusses... The walls I'd like to use the sawed pine in 2x6... any problems with strength using the pine... I don't know the strength of white pine I guess.. anybody use it for construction

Just built a garage with EWP. Most of the oldest structures around here are built with pine/hemlock. Just watch the big knots.

For walls, column type pieces, it is fine. When it gets to horizontal bending members like joists and rafters you need to put a close eye on it.

I'm thinking of the same thing. My hemlock is in short supply.
I suppose I can saw thicker, deeper,  ;D and get away with rafter and joists. Instead of 16 on center I could go 8 on center?? I could build 10 houses with the EWP I have and still build 10 more and I doubt I would run out than.  :D  My garage bays will only be a standard width for a single bay garage. Well maybe 2 feet wider to make it easier to open doors on a car.

It is a favorite for timber framers.  Very dimensionally stable (some say the most stable).  If more strength is needed, just increase the cross section dimensions.
