Howdy all,
Just wondering about these 3 head molders i see advertised.  Lot cheaper than logosol 4 head, and seeing as i have to plane them down anyways, 3 heads should be good.  How are they to adjust?  They don't seem to have taken off with the public, so there must be some reason why people aren't running them.  I've been thinking about a molder for my small operation.  I've looked for an old XL Smithway 2x6 4 head molder, but people want a lot of $ for these as well.  At least the Bridgewood can plane 14" wide as well.  They have 7.5hp top, and 5 hp sides which seems like plenty of power.  I'd like to do some flooring, and other moldings with my lower grade lumber, and i've been waiting for about 3 years without seeing a good local auction that had a molder that i coiuld move without a crane.  Anyone run one?  Own one?  I see sunhill machinery has or had one as well.  Wonder if its the same machine.  Looks the same.  Oh, well just checking!

I read on a woodworking forum Wilke (which carries Bridgewood) is going out of business.  Might be something to check into.

If you call Sunhill ask for Sidney.  She is quite knowledgeable about there line and can probably put you in touch with somebody that is running the machine in question.  I bought a planer equipped with a Byrd Shelix head from them.  Had a couple of issues due to shipping damage but customer service was excellent.
