Tomorrow morning if the weather permits my family is getting on a plane to Florida.  My wife is running in the Disney Marathon.  We will be doing tourist things.  One of the science related activities will be the Brevard Museum.  The main attraction for us will be the bog bodies of Windover.

I hope the weather is nice.

My wife is working as a nurse volunteer at the Marathon. I hope they don't get the opportunity to meet! ;D

I am having my breakfast befor we all take off.  I am looking forward to the warmer temps. If they should meet it would be by chance.  long distance runners are crazy.  There are over 20,000 runners, the last one here in in Maine was a wapping 1000 runners.  It should be a simple course, flat and no snow.  It starts in the morning, 6:00 am, it's light up here and it will be still dark down there.

The flight is only 3hrs.  It is amazing how fast we can move these days.  Three hours drive time from my house and I just make Bangor.

Did I mention the weather, I hope it's nice.

Hey, I'm closer to Bangor, it's only a little over 2 hours from here. Have a good run and vacation at the same time in Florida.  You flying out of Bangor? :)

I just put in a nice weather request for your trip. Been dang chilly here in the 60's lately.

We visited the Kennedy Space Center, just missed seeing the shuttle being moved to the pad by 3 days.  The flag painted on the side of the building the shuttle rests in requires 420 gallons of paint.  I think that's right, a big building and flag.

The DNA from the bog bodies shows that the remains were from the same clan covering 1300 years.  They staked the bodies into the bog to keep the critters from hauling the body away.  A very interesting site.  A small scale museum with a low budget, they had a coin collection bucket on the floor for a fund raiser to repair the roof, if it had been raining the bucket would double as a wishing well.

The weather was wonderful.  We went swimming in the ocean at Cocoa Beach.  Quite a change from Maine to Florida.  All in all, it is always nice to be home.

It really only takes 2 hrs from my door to Bangor, via Rt. 9.
