need clean power from a generator for electronics

Ok I have a question for you, have any of you got a favorite setup for getting clean power from you generators.  I know you need some kind of power conditioner and surge supressor but which ones do you like and why.  They are going to be trying to run laptops,rechage batteries, camcorders etc.

Have a look at Honda's EU series or the inverter models from Yamaha. Very 'clean' power, probably better than the grid, and they are super quiet. Recharging batteries is not a big deal but laptops and camcorders like stable output.

Nope I haven't, I don't know if they have the generators bought already or not.  I'll have to ask.  Thanks for the advice though.

Another $.02

When I was tinkering with 'puters and such we used to put apc's smart ups' between the wall and any 'puters. I believe tripplite also makes a "smart" ups that'll regulate highs/lows  - though you pay a little more for the ones that regulate the power - most just cut out the spike(s) and/or switch to battery if power fails altogether.  Should work on any 110 volt generator ( or inverter ? ) I suppose.

If the generators have already been purchased, you could have them charging a small bank of batteries, which would feed DC to a pure sine (not modified sine) wave inverter. Stable power, you don't have to worry about crashing when the generator runs out of gas, and probably some other good benefits that I am unaware of.  Just be sure to size the inverter a bit larger than you think is needed.
