selling cabin logs

Has anyone tried selling 6x6 pine for building hunting cabins and such?I'm thinking if you could sell the logs then you might also sell the framing lumber too,maybe even advertise  a complete log and framing package.
  I think a 16x20 with a porch and waney edge gables would make a nice little hunting camp for around 5 or 6 thousand bucks for the logs and lumber?

Its being Done. I seen a place  on 77 that does it . How many they sell i have no clue.

Yep.. people plague the Arky to cut those for them, but so far he has resisted.  He says we will make up some "Packages" sometime.
The last "package" he was going to do..... he is BUILDING. a Timber Frame in Mt View.
SOooo you can see the problem.  It starts out they want a nice little cabin .. can you cut one up for a package deal???  Next thing you know.. you are in the cabin business and not at the mill.
Now the thing is a 29 x 45 HOUSE with decks and porches!!!  Of course he is being paid for all that.. but it was NOT his original intent.  In the meantime, the sawing we have scheduled waits for his return.  The crew is cutting walnut in Woody's new shed.

I know perzactly what you mean Karen.I built a few sheds and next week I have to go build an addition on a shed that I built and I should be at the mill sawing my mountain of logs.

I've thought about trying to sell 6X8 logs with dovetail notches in them for do-it-yourselfers.  I would like to build a couple of buildings for myself first,  but just never have the time or money.

I haven't a clue!  It is somewhere on the edge of town, just sniff and follow the BIG MONEY to a subdivison.  The guy is trying to talk Arky into doing a bunch of these.  It is being handled by a realtor there in town, who says he'll have it sold before it it finished.
For my money, NO CHANCE.  But we'll see.  I think Arky has posted some pics of it in Timber Framing thread.  Look for the 29 x 45 Timberframe.. yeah I know 29? x 45? a CABIN???
