Does anyone have experience with a Husky 460 for firewood cutting?

Is there a comparable Jonsered to this model? And how can you cross reference the models?

  Thanks

We have yet to see the 460 but it appears to be a 455 with a larger bore. The 455 is not a big seller yet, the 55 is still available and is lighter and less money. And proven.

I am pretty sure it is not a good option, even though I have never run one.

Power to weight ratio is bad, but not as bad as the 455.

Jonsered version of the 455 is the 2155 - avoid both!!     >:(

I've got the 455.  I agree with SawTrolls power comment.  I would have thought it would have cut faster than it does.  That said, I like the saw.  It always starts which is more than I can say for my old TimberBear.  If I knew then what I knew now, I would have bought the 460.

 Tim,

What length bar do you have on your 455 ?

What type and diameter have you been cutting?

How long have you had it?

I just started using my new Stihl MS 290 Farm Boss for about 20 hours of just felling and it is noticebly better on fuel compared to the Stihl 026 I traded in. A tank lasts about an hour on ash trees.

My friends Husky seems even better on fuel than the Stihls.

The larger Huskys run about $200 cheaper than the Stihls and I'm wondering how they are holding up?

I run a 20" bar.  I bought some woodsman pro chain last fall and never got a chance to try it on the saw to see if it worked better than the saftey chain.  I've been cutting firewood from mostly dead ash trees anywhere from 12" DBH to about 24" DBH.   So far about 20 trees for 2 seasons of heating wood.

Other than I thought it would cut faster I do like the saw, but then again I've never owned what most would call a "Real Saw" ;)
