OK so this has absolutely nothing to do with wood, or sawmills, or even food, but I want to share it with our members. Many of us sew or have relatives that sew, and a project for you or them or the girl scouts or boy scouts or church group is what I am thinking here. Our wounded soldiers need blankets...nice homemade blankets to keep them warm while they are trying to recover from their injuries. I found a place online that will make sure your blanket is given to a wounded soldier. Here is the link to their site.

I think it is a great idea.

Back before Grandma Annie died, about 5 years ago, she had crocheted 94 lap blankets for the Veterans Medical Center in Fairmont, WV.  We were all real proud of her.

That is a great thing to do.
Thanks for posting this Patty.

My sister had her Sunday School class make quilts/blankets for our soldiers and the kids really felt they had contributed. The feedback was tremendous.

Yesterday we had such a fun day. My mom, daughter-in-law, grandson & I got together to make some blankets. The age span was 84 years in the 4 generations together! We sewed as fast as we talked...lips and fingers were flyin'.  :D  By 4:30 that afternoon we had completed 4 very pretty blankets.

It is very satisfying that a soldier will get comfort from these quilts one day. It puts a smile on my face and a warmth in my heart.  :)

  Them's purdy, Patty. Good on ya.  8) 8)
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
   Second, it is violently opposed; and
   Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

She sure does make me proud too WDH. :)

Joel and I spent the best part of the day replacing his garbage disposal. Wouldn't have taken that long except for the three trips to town for parts. :D
