Sorry post ed this in the wrong section  and I don't know how to move it.

Bought it on Ebay. I gave up looking for the perfect tractor(small4x4 with loader) that I could afford and ended up buying this. It's engine sounds reasonable and it was cheap.   ::) ::) ::)

It will be used to power a logging sawbench or post peeler.
I will have it delivered early in the New Year.

Lucky you.How many hp and what's the big plan for your new toy? Sorry, with this dail up I don't do many videos.Takes about a hour to  download to watch a 3 minute video.  :(  Probaly you have a bigger tractor than what you was going to have.

It's an International 574.
67hp with power steering and plenty of rust  but very little glass. She will be left unattended in the woods so I did not want anything too smart that might get pinched, so in that respect this tractor is ideal. ;D ;D

Glass in the woods would not last long with me.When I left my tractor here before we started to live here I built a real cheap building for it.Still keep it in it.Had it locked up in it.But I still built something that went over the fill cap for the diesel and I had a rod through the dip stick so that could not be removed. All this was locked with a padlock.I did not need somone pouring something in without me knowing about it.At least this way they would really have to work hard at gettng into the building and than to get at the engine too.Never had a bit of trouble. But you never know.I was working it in the woods and there are some real odd people when it comes to cutting wood. Some woods equipment have been set on fire before.

We had a 574 in the 80's, nick named "Vibro", as it sure did a lot of vibrating. Was used for a lot of hay raking and combining. Was later traded in on an IH 756. Was it made in the USA? Usually, if an IH was made overseas, it would have a different model, and often a Brit engine. We have quite a few B275s and B414s around here, both Brit made models. Looks like it is ready for the woods. :)

In this part of the world there aren't any bargains on that size tractor  :D They seem to run forever. You did good

John, looks like you cracked a good deal with that "rust bucket".  For the benefit of Dave Shepard, that particular model has the German engine.  They are indestructable and off the cuff, I know of no one who had to be inside one.

So, does that mean the Zetor is looking for a new home?  ???

It seems the 574 is on a narrow wheel track and it may be prudant to push the wheels out to give you extra stability on the side slopes.  ;)

That is a nice tractor. I've had a IH 574 with a loader for over 25 years.  It has been an every day workhorse on a dairy farm for all but the last two years.

My 574 has the C 200 gas engine and yours most likely has the D-179 3 cylinder diesel although it may have the 4 cylinder D-239. I do not believe they put the German diesel in any of those 574's. All of those 74 and 84 series tractors were made in England.

One of the repeated problems I've had is the forward/reverse lever breaking off on top of the transmission. It's caused by shifting, or at least trying to while still rolling. Sometimes you can temporarily fix it by welding the lever back on.

The cab has been added as none of those came with cabs. Case does offer a ROPS for that tractor, but I never got one, even when they offered them at low prices when they first came out. I should have, but I had one door to go thru that was too low.

Hope you get as much out of yours as I did mine.
Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

You guys seem to know alot more about these IH 574 than I do. I  have always had Massey Ferguson tractors but they now make too much money. I have just sent of a cheque for £735 plus £25 to have it delivered.
Timburr, I think you are right I need to get those wheels as far apart as possible, that cab doesn't look too strong.
What sell my baby Zetor, you must be joking. :o :o :o

Look at
http://www.neuhauser-holztechnik.at/RoundTimber.htm

Under
"Round timber processing"
It has a large disc with two cutters in. The log is rotated against this by what they call a cardan shaft.
It works well but those green spuce logs are dang heavy.
