Hey Guys

Getting stuff put together for the Inspection Course out in Bangor, Iowa June 14th. Just want to get a approx. head count so I can make sure to have plently of copies of information etc. If you have thought about going but not sure go ahead and add your name, that way I have information available for you if you do make it.

Thanks

Thanks Sawwood

I have talked to Al. Saturday is his busiest day and as the time gets closer we will discuss weather or not he will be there. If anyone else would be available to discuss Kiln Drying if Al cannot make it, please speak up. I can discuss to a point what some color/defects will do but as far as other questions I will not be able to answer. I know a lot of you guys would be interested in learning more about KD so this could be something the Forestry Forum plans in the future. There is an idea Jeff  ;D

Gadget,

Linda and I are planning on sliding over to Bangor, but it will be 1:30-2 pm.

We have one of those jobs that ties us up alot. We have retail sales until Noon. >:(

We'll bring some stuff so we can go over the KD process.

Then I'd like to get a 2nd or 3rd cut log up on the saw.
We talk about opening faces, Full Taper, etc.
Also, how to prevent some KD problems with a sawmill ;D

For those who are coming write your questions down now and next week. That way I wont forget to cover something.

I think I'm getting Al-timerz

Ever look at the word   NORMAL .

It's got Norm and Al in it.

So while Norm and I are together, things are fine ;)

Split us up,  and things just aren't the same    :o

Linda and I custom saw NHLA Grade Lumber, do retail sales, and provide Kiln Services full time.

inspectorwoody

:D Sounds good Al. I await Norm's reply to that one ;D

Norm

Glad to hear that Al and Linda can make it, being a sawyer rookie it will be nice to get some tips on how to saw a log to get the best grades of lumber. I don't remember what time you wanted to start on Saturday Dustin but later in the morning would help us out so we can get our chores done before we start. Although if you want to come early you can help butcher chickens with us. I think Tom mentioned that it was one of his favorite pastimes. ;D

Now I've been accused of a lot of things but being normal isn't one of them so I guess when Al's here we'll have to keep a safe distance from each other. :D

I am going to try and attend. I will probably drag one of my brothers along. It depends on if we can get off work on friday the 13th :o :o

You are about 800 miles from us. Is there any place to stay in the area?

Weekend,

You and your brother are welcome to stay at the Bangor hotel.I hear the price is right, they say if you come with a beer or two the rent is free!  ;D

Norm & I built a home about a 1/4 mile down the road and converted the old house into our office. It has 4 bedrooms, couple beds and lots of couches, and you are welcome to stay there. First come first served for the beds.

Hope you and your brother can make it.

I just double checked my math and it's 1000 miles. Should be a fun trip. I'll plan on packing my sleeping bag if the bossman can spare me the day.  8)
