Since some others are asking about their Prentice's as well, has anyone ever used one of these? It has no grapple on it and never had, more of an industrial lifting crane. It actually must have been the old version of a modern Hiab, Piffer, and all the others you see on big rigs. Collapses right down onto/ into itself. Only one stinger boom on it. Tag says : Prentice / Omark
Industries  Model TFB 25 Serial# 30061

I think it has a 16' reach and can lift 6000# at 6'

Dads first crane truck had a hiab quite similar to that one when he got it in the mid 80s we brought a Fassi f85 in about 95-96 with about 52' reach and it  would lift about 8000 lbs close in and about 1000 at full reach we also had a grapple on it also but the hyd finnished at about 40' feet  ;) ;D the older ones are good value if you find one that hasnt been abused over the years at the right price  ;) Mate  ;) ;D ;D 8) 8)

Thanks Meadows,

This one is just "cosmetically challenged"  :D, so it will likely get a good paint job and then onto the truck.

Reid, I run into one very similar to that several years ago mounted on an International truck.  Actually is is seperated and has two 3"x3" bars that slide into rear of truck similar to a trailer hitch.   Guy wanted way too much for the combo and never sold it.  The knuckle boom is stilll setting in the weeds close to me but he thinks it worth big $$$$.  Anyway I done a bunch of research and even called Prentice when I was trying to but it and the guy at Prentice was very interested in it.  Not sure about the one you have but the one I was looking at had  electric over hydraulic controls and a wired remote.   He said they were trying to get them back because there had been a couple deaths due to people swinging them into power lines and the wired remote allowed them to get electrocuted.  Not sure if this applies to yours or if you want to check into just passing on some info.  Good luck.

This does not "remote", you need to physically be touching the machine (ensures full and complete electrocution :D ;D).

This one is in the $2000 range (IMHO) that should be it's worth to someone who needs/ wants one (like me ;))

Thanks fer da input.
