Friday Aug 21 I boarded a train in Oakville ON. and 24 hrs later I was in Miramachi New Brunswick visiting with Sbishop. I have posted a couple of pictures. I always seem to wait till the end to get the camera out.
Steve and I did lots if fishing- 1st time for me on the fly rod, I really enjoyed that.

Here is a view of his porch, great for sitting and talking.

We framed in the bathroom while we there, something about telling the wife's we actually did some work ;D

.

We also put on some simple latches to keep the doors closed until

Steve could get some hardware

and lastly a picture of the 2 new friends, from the FF

Steve took me back to the train station and I was home in 22 hrs. I was able to a get a bedroom on the way down, but the train was pretty full on the way home so I had to sleep in my seat for the trip home.
All in All it was a great trip, I got to see a portion of the country I have not seen before, learned how to fly fish, landed a nice salmon, did not have to drive, Sbishop's Camp is 15 mins from the train station.
thanks again Steve

FF friends are the best.  I have made many.  I enjoyed the pictures and I have been following the cabin thread.  It looks great!

Looks great.
How are the trains along that route? Long stop-overs or does it move right along?
Often thought about a Canadian train trip across to Vancouver. Seems last I checked, they went through the mountains at night, and not during the day.

Do I detect a string on the door latch to raise the "bar" ?  Good design.

Thanks for the pics. Also looked at some of your cabin pics in your gallery for a refresher of your past endeavors and cabin site.

The train trip was pretty good, I had to change trains 2 times each way. Toronto & Montreal.both ways. the portion from Toronto to Montreal is high speed, most of the time we run at 100mph, from Montreal to Miramachi was a lot slower, more stops, quite senic, along the south shore of the
St Lawrence and down the east coast of New Brunswick, thru some beautiful river valleys, Restiguche & Mirimachi, also along the Bay of Chaluer.
yea we put the string on so we could close it from the outside, mainly the latches are to keep the doors closed till Steve could get some hardware up there in a couple weeks.
