CHAINSAW PROBLEM

I bought an older husqvarna chainsaw model141.and,recently had to replace muffler.,about a week later while cutting i noticed smoke.,upon inspection the cylinder head along with muffler  ,.and everything attached was now off center to the point that the muffler is touching one side resulting in a start of the plastics melting- after breaking the saw  down .I have not seen any isolaters missing  , after dropping fuel tank and examining the four bolts that I thought hold the engine in place I find that all four bolts will not  take hold. .  I   can move the muffler attached to cylinder from side to center  regardless if the bolts are in  so I dont see the fix here .,I did try some  jw weld hoping it would due some good.. . I first tried loctite  with  no results  .I was told it was an engine mount but I dont see any that would fix this problem ., the movement is up and beyond the vibration limiters . the saw is nearly 12years old (1998) bought three months ago to take maple tree  in yard down and now  finishing downed tree. I  have  replaced wearable parts on the saw and just need it to finih the wood I can not split by hand  and maul.

can this saw be fixed .,and if so by me . I have gone from zero knowledge to have replaced clutch,drive sprocket ,chain brake  , chain and bar  ,as well  break down clean and reassemble ,as well as replace starter assembly.,  even with the saw out of alignment it well still start and run even  in doing it will  self destruct by melt down

Sounds like a lot of work but I'm almost certain it can be fixed.
Why don't the engine bolts hold, are the threads stripped?

I went and looked at a 36 I have tore down the 4 bolts that hold the motor are at the bottom of the saw and screw into the motor. if they are stripped I would start looking for a parts saw as I don't think it would be worth a new jug.
these are the homeowner saw so basicly a Poulan

Doug,sounds like the threads are stripped,get the next size bottoming tap and recut them.An automotive machine shop can insert heli-coil,or quick and dirty find a little larger self tapping screw thats not too long.Frank C.

In reading this I can only assume to understand the problem as I have no saw at my disposal to verify what it being said .

I assume the saw is made using 4 long bolts going upwards through the handle and attached to the under side of the engine which are in fact stripped out ? If that be the case it's rather common on saws of that design .Usualy they are either 4MM or in the case of US build older Poulans number 10 or 12 screws .

The fix is just to drill the holes in the handle large enough for the next size screws which can be tapped for full thread engagement  in the engine . Fact is I had to do this very same fix on a 46 cc Poulan a few years ago and used 1/4" 20 socket headed cap screws .The repair worked just fine  most likely better than the original size bolts .

the 36/41 is the same as the 136/141 these are homeowner saws made in usa
