Tom

Good Morning fellow Forestry Forum Members,  Have you read Geoff Kegerreis' verbiage on his web site,
www.timberlineforestry.com ?

I have spent the morning reading it and have thoroughly enjoyed myself.  He writes with an honesty, straight-forwardness and simpleness that is sorely missing in today's Bureaucratic atmosphere.

Yes, I disagree with minor points he makes but not with the overall gist of the site. ie. "True Foresters have a B.S."  would better be stated as "True professional Foresters have a B.S." and here's why:

It should be the goal of all landowners and tree stewards to learn as much about the land, forests and wildlife as they can whether formally schooled or not. The title "Forester" should be bestowed upon many of these folks as well as the ones with the B.S.  Perhaps there should be a distinction made, but the field doesn't allow for it. Part of a Professional foresters job should be to spread the knowledge.

See, I told you it was minor.

His descriptions of organizations and where he stands on issues and philosophy is most interesting.

Any of you other members been to this site?  Geoff is NWMICH_Forester.

You should.  Geoff has obviously spent a good bit of time composing and I look forward to going back.  It is entertaining and I look forward to his expanding his thoughts.

Geoff, don't lose the opportunity to state some of those thoughts here on this forum.  They would help to answer some of the questions and would provide Fodder for some interesting conversation.

LOL - I just saw this post!  Only 7 years late, but what the heck...I was trying to find my more recent TN logger post, but thank you for the comments, Tom!!!

I guess I don't remember being NWMICH_Forester, but might have been on the site for short while back then.  My new nick is a little easier to remember.

The site is still up and the verbiage isn't the same, but it's similar.

I have an active lifestyle that keeps me away from internet forums these days - If I don't reply, it's not personal - feel free to shoot me an e-mail via my website (on profile) if there is something I can help you with!  :-)
