I'm in the early stages of my basement bar. And thought I'd share some of my wood-hackin skills or lack there of ;D. This all began a year ago with me takin down 3 white pines that was up-rootin and leanin towards the house. The trees come down fine, but unfortunately I couldn't get anybody to come get them or to saw them for me at the time. I ended up cuttin most of the small stuff up for campers. The biggest one I wanted to do at least something with it, so I decided to make a bar top out of it. So I grabbed my 036 with a borrowed 2' bar. I "snapped" a chalk line down the middle and went at it. Once in two, I let it sit outside all summer to dry out a bit. I found some cedars to use for post and notched  and bored holes to fit-it. I made alot of mistakes, But I believe it'll be alright. Now I can finish my stone floor. It's not that I'm cheap.... I'm just poor, usin what's at hand. ;) The first pic is right before I cut the closest post in-two.

sorry the pics are dark.

All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
   Second, it is violently opposed; and
   Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
