Looking for input on what kind of sawmill to buy and introduce my lurking self.

If you have never done any sawing go do it before you buy.   I had a guy come in and saw some logs for me.  I paid him but I did as much to help as I could.  Learned more in that week than all the videos on youtube.   

My conclusion...you get pretty much what you pay for.   It is a lot of grunt work even with two guys and a hydraulic mill.  Oh!  Don't forget something to move those logs, and ......

But I have the bug and I,ll have a mill before Spring

It's looking more like I will be hiring someone to cut up my logs, as I will be busy building the next couple years.
I will still be lurking and also searching for a good used mill, just don't see me having much free time to use it.

Often, backing up and taking a deep breath is a good idea.  In your OP, you stated that you didn't like to spend (I read waste) money.  Sometimes moving slowly and with a purpose is wise.  Good luck.... :)
