Hi all, my newest addition to the family as finally arrived and wouldnt you believe a get an offer for 20-30 beautifully straight pine trees already down and not to far from my house.
And a wise man told me running on the mill ground before we put it up on axles might not be the worst way to used to my new baby...  (cough, cough DanG) ;D
well here are some beginning pics, only bad thing about this pine is we got to get it now and that means no sawing :'(  (though tomarrow when we level her up I may try n sneak a cut :D )  just humping over all those logs with our lil' trailer  smiley_dizzy Only 29 more loads!!  move_it

Congrats,  ur screwed now.  sawdust is an addiction.   I got the same problem, logs everywhere, not enough time to saw'm up.  I like ur helper, just be careful she doesn't take ur new toy away from u.  u know little girls don't like to share. At least my son doesn't.   Ken

I am proud for you........and your Miss Little Log Princess, is adorable.   She looks like a supervisor in training.

WDH, I think, said sawmill mills just naturally attract logs...  8)

Nice pictures, be careful and have fun.

Good job, Woeboy! 8) 8)  That's ok about the time issue.  Getting the logs is more important than getting antsey about trying it out.  Besides, it'll give you a little time to gaze at it and cogitate while you're hauling.  Study the book and go through the alignment procedure before sawing.  That'll save you a lot of grief. ;)

That's a pretty little Slash log in that last pic.  If all of'em are like that, you'll have some fine lumber outta that whack!

I know what you mean about wanting to get stuck in, I'm barely remaining calm and bein civil to folk's as I have had my 10" Lucas for almost a month and not even put so much as 6 min on it!!! :o >:( :( Been too rainy or too busy to get making sawdust, gonna go postal soon :'(

As DanG said your slash over there looks just like our slash over here

Woeb, looks like your all setup for auqalogging. You could always store them logs in the water, that would go over like a cigar but in the punch bowl with boaters.Really my friend thats life, no money plenty of time--no time plenty of money. As your wise ole neighbor,Dan says git the logs wile their available mill later.Frank C.

Talk about a catch 22.But I know one thing.I would rather have a brand new mill that I cannot use because I have to haul 30 logs, than a have a brand new mill that I can not use because of no logs. You will enjoy the mill when you get done hauling logs.Just don't forget to take some pictures when you get it running. What's all the lumber going to be used for? Have you been around a mill before?

In my case it's...Got Mill, Got Logs, Got More Dang Snow. :'(
I don't see a water tank on that mill.  Pine will sure gunk up the blade pretty quick without it.
Have fun with the new toy.

Woeboy,
That's been my same song and verse for a few years now. The mill is on the mountain (WMLT40Hydro), and hemlock logs on the ground, but this dang snow just ain't no fun anymore. Just waiting to get started sawing lumber for my church picnic shelter. You know Baptist, they need somewhere to eat. That pretty little darlin' should occupy your time. Planning retirement this year and looking forward to making dust. Good luck.
Since I retired I really like work: It fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.
