I bought this saw used knowing it has a burned piston, now I see that there is stock replacement jug and piston kits I can get for it I did'nt find any big bore kits yet. Can I bolt on another piston and jug from a bigger saw and have it work or am I limited to only stock. Now I am planing to play around with cc chamber size and polishing and carb work. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No big bore kits that I am aware of for this model but EHP and others say it can be modded to really wail.

357 will bolt on but some of the older 359's have a different width on the rod to but  the 357 piston on

What is the advantage of putting on the 357 jug and piston its the same size 47mm right?

it is abit faster but once ported works better again, what you end up with is a 357 without the bells on the crank , I was not saying what is better just saying what will fit on the 359 bottom end, myself I would put the 359 top end on it and muffler mod the saw and reset the carb as that helps the 359 alot but the 359 does take very well to porting and in most cases works better than other saws in its cc and last longer , the biggest thing with the 359 stock is the muffler builds so much heat it heat soaks the motor

JFYI the 357 piston is 1mm smaller bore then the 359.

Thanks for the info. I will get the new jug and piston and work over the ports and carb. Oh and open up the muffler too.
