Having production problems with my Grizzly 0504 Dual Conveyor Resaw.  I mill Antique Reclaimed exclusively.  What resaws do you use??  Any comments and ideas are welcome!!
Thanks

We use a Samuel Kent Baker resaw. What is it doing? I wonder if it isn't more of a blade problem than a resaw problem.

We have a 'Go-fast' made by Up Country manufacturing.  It's simple and built heavy.

How about your guides,  are they keeping your blade stable?

The guides on the grizzly are horrible.  They are simple metal strips that are 1/4" thick and have a piece of ceramic adhered to it.  They cost $75.00 each and there are 4 of them.  I have used a lot of them.  I adjust them as the manual states.  I use Cooks 1" blades.  I also use the grizzly blade lube system.  I just cant get the speed I need out of it.  It has a 30 hp 3 phase motor.  Do you think if i changed the guides to better system I could increase my production??
Anybody use the Northtech Machinery Horizontal resaw or the  West Plains Resaw??
Thanks for your help.

Have you contacted Grizzly? Tell them your issue, perhaps they can work thru a design flaw AND fix your problem w/out spending more capital. Seems they would want to get this right as reclaimed is a HUGE market segment for them.

Yes i did...  They didnt seem to interested in fixing the problem..  Guess I should have spent my 17K someplace else.

Wood-Mizer has a full line-up of resaws. I hear they are getting ready to release the HR130 which has a 15HP 3Phase motor, feed rate of 90FPM, and automatic run-around for 1 man operation on smaller cants.

But what kind of blade are you running?  Maybe shopping around for another blade type may help.  We bought a new RazorTip blade from Wood-Mizer last summer but have not used it yet.  Sounds like it's made for sawing hard, dry wood.

Why don't you contact Shiraz Baolia (Pres of Grizzly) directly?  You can send him a PM via Sawmill Creek, and explain the problems that you are having, what you've done to address them, and the frustration over lack of support.

How do I find him on Sawmill??

Do a search...think his handle is papa grizzly.  Been long time since I've been to that forum.
