I had a friend ask if I knew where he could get vibration dampers for a sachs Dolmar saw. This saw is supposed to be about 25 yrs old, I think he said he runs a 24" bar on it and it still works good except the vib dampeners. Any leads? I think I might be seeing him again in the morning helping at my son-in-laws on some 20, 24" DBH pines next to their house. I only bucking and taking the logs. They have a climber coming to top them and limb before dropping them. Found a big eye bolt almost grown over on one tree I claimed last night. I'll need my metal detector on these for sure.

Hey Maple, what metal detector do you use?  How deep below the surface does it detect something?  I rip a fair amount of lumber with a chainsaw.  Most of my logs come from residential trees, and I've hit a fair number of surprises over the past few years.  Chains are pretty cheap, and surprisingly durable with nails but not with eye bolts, which I, too, have hit a couple times.  Wrecked 4 chains on one memorable log.  The wood from that log almost covered the cost of the chains !

BTW, I grew up not too far from you in the Mohawk Valley.  Beautiful area and I miss the hills living here in the NW corner of NYS.

Mine is a Kellyco MP3 Pro. It will find an 8 penny nail 8" down except if the point is straight up. Sideways a little or the head it will find. It finds all lags and anything heavy except a porcelline insulator with the lag straight below the detector on the other side of the porcelline. I think it might do a little better if I used headphones, so I've been told.

Maple flats- there is a dealer in Taberg that sells Dolmar if you have trouble finding parts. Good luck

I'm betting a 133 or 143, who knows maybe even a 152 or 153 or one of these.

This a Sacks Dolmar 120 or 122 super, If I remember right. I can't find my note. Who is a dealer in Taberg? I will just refer him there. The guy lives in or around Oneida, he is a friend of my SIL.

Try here  maybe if still around Wilson's Saw Sales  McFarland Rd in Taberg.

If that is no good for you. These guys are top notch dolmar dealer.  Ask for Steve or Scott. Call and talk to them. A+

Wilson's saw is still in business at the adress Cut4fun said. He runs a small mill there also. His shop is about a 2 miles outside of Lee. Turn left on McFarland Rd. about another 3/4 mile he's on the left. He used to do all our milling before we bought our Woodmizer.
