Do ya'll  remember this picture of the bridge Tom_in_Mo has to cross to get home when it was flooded?

Well .... After the water receeds , we tend to take advantage of the free bath mother nature has provided for our automobiles. It does a great job on the undercarriage. It also does a great job for mud on the body and the windows.
Here is me taking advantage of the "Redneck Truck Wash"!!

Anyone else got pics to add to this of them washing their automobile?

Back in the flood of 93,   son Gabe had an old Ford Bronco.  He got to complaining that he thought the front hubs were going out.  I asked him a dumb question, "Have you been driving through flood water?" -  "Yea."  "Well,  there you go."  He was fortunate and that they were able to just clean and repack the front assemblies.

This was clean , crystal clear water that I splashed through(picture 1 was during the dlood and picture 2 was after the water had receeded and cleared up). I do not like to go through water that is muddy looking cause it is filled with grit that gets in front ends , rearends , hubs and bearings. Not a good thing. I keep it in the clean water !! Mostly no water at all. It was a good time to wash the undercarriage on the truck when the water is only 4" deep and crystal clear.

Adam , if the seals on your truck keep the oil and grease in .. they will keep water out .  :P
I did a lot of mud running and only time you get in trouble is when you have a seal that needs be changed and you dont .  :-\

Then I should be ok since I just spent 2k about 3 weeks ago getting the frontend replaced and serviced and the rearend and tranny and trans case all serviced.I don't like to use this truck to do my 4 wheelin in cause it is my daily driver(cept for now cause gas is so high).I can't afford to tear it up and fix it all the time.It can get costly.

as fast as he showed down going through that water.....hmm.... what water!! I barely had enough time to click the shot.
