I just got done cleaning out old wasp nests from both the cross frames and the main frame on my old LT30.  Do any of the mills have manufactured frame end caps to keep them clean?  If so, would mine have had them at some point?

i dont know about the caps, but if i had that to cap a can of expanding foam insulation would be a cheap fix. wasps and mice dont like to eat it very well. cuts out fairly easy if you need access to the tube again. pc

No end caps for that year mill. Spray foam would be messy and hard to remove. I've seen steel wool, rags and a piece os styrofoam cooler cut to fit the opening with a drawer knob on it.

On our 94 model LT40 we had a good way to keep the wasps out - bird nests!  Our 2002 is all capped off but I be wasps can still build nests in the frame.

Mine has end caps, but still has some holes for wasp.  I used spray foam to fill the holes, and it worked very well.  You would not want to use something that would attract/hold moisture and cause rusting.
