Totally by accident I have located a swinger mill.
Stopped at a local shipyard (I work on their chainsaws ) and found that they are using a Bestbier mill.
Its a good sized unit with a vtwin kohler on it.
Looks to be able to work on a 4 foot diameter stick of wood.
Anyone ever see one of these.
Its well out of my smarts, but would like to hear from others about it.
Thanks Chris

different, edger and resaw all in one unit. It sounds like it's all circle saws, no bands. The mechanics would be interesting

They had it to cut some hardwood timbers for the Bluenose refit .

I talked to the mill builder , these ones are built in Nova Scotia for the North American market with the sawhead being imported from South Africa .
He will also build to suit for customers and offered to demo the mill and the resaw if I wanted to see them in the field .
I will be stopping by his shop to have a closer look .

Thats the one thats in my backyard.
Looked to be a nice unit.
They were milling ironwood with it,pretty hard stuff.
Should make someone a good mill.
I would have liked to mill some pine at home with it but,as it turns out there is more than
a bit of hardware in this pine.
I hate people that put nails and eyebolts in trees.
