johnjbc, That is truly a thing of beauty.   :o   I'm impressed with that plumbing "T" in the axle holding the motor support/belt tensioner.  ;)  I love it when something works.  :)

Kind of late to jump in with my 2 cents. But if I was buying a tractor to run a buzz saw. I would convert the frame to 3pt hitch and forget the belt . Just run it off a spline pto shaft. Would take a little extra work but extremely portable and handy. If cutting longer stuff it would require a 90* gearbox, shouldn't be a hard find.
