Java problem, I think

I've read in several posts here lately that I'm not the only one having trouble resizing photos for my gallery.  I don't know if it's me, my computer or what, I've re-uploaded Java and also tried a few other ways people have mentioned but I'm not sure I'm doing any of it right.  Is there a way I can put the pictures on my computer in the right size directly from the camera?  After I figured out the Java system earlier it worked great uploading my first pictures and all were taken with the same camera so I don't know what I've changed, any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I too am having problems with java, [or myself]. I did manage to get pictures into my profile but could not start a gallery for myself. I thought my firewall or something like that would not allow  the java to work, I was getting a note saying something like, Java uploader has been stopped by you.  I am not on that computer now, but will try again this weekend.
