I have a wireless keyboard.  It fouls up now and again.  I would never have thought of having one, my wife thought I needed it.  She also thought I needed a wireless hookup so that she could use her laptop from the kitchen.  So, she got a linksys thingy that has since failed.

Anyway, my keyboard quit.  After much diagnostic work, including turning the computer off and on, and turning the batteries in the back of the keyboard, I decided that new batteries were in order.  I replaced them and now I'm back in business.  Why in the world didn't used up batteries enter my mind right off of the bat?   Now I'm wondering if the old ones are really used up or just had a bad connection.  I think my mind is going.  Just throw them away, Tom!! :D

Same with gas in a lawnmower.  ;D You would think it it would have a low battery indicator.

Tom-

I have a wireless mouse at work.  Drives me nuts when I am in the middle of something and then have to go fine the AA's.  I had a wireless keyboard too.  As my office is small, and I have no other place to use the keyboard for this computer but at my desk, I switched back to a wired keyboard to avoid battery psychosis.  Sometimes, hard wired is better.  Does your wife really use the keyboard in the kitchen or not?  doctorb
