There seem to be several Jonsered sawmill machines
little known in the states, incuding the sm 2196 mill
(see my earlier post) which uses either a bandmill or a
chainsaw type carriage running on a typical ground
based track...both appear to have a decent reputation
but U.S. bandmill owners seem to be very rare indeed  ???
I can't even guess where one would get 'em serviced...

However, there is ALSO an odd looking device called the
Jobber mill. The J100 is a chainsaw mill which runs on a
near vertical aluminum track which is mounted on steel
legs.....The J200 is similar but uses a small bandmill head
and a 6 hp engine.  Now, these products are supposedly
available in the US but good luck finding ANYONE with a
clue about running them (or even selling them)!!  Calling
listed "distributors" is a useless exercise...they simply
refer you to "dealers" who have never heard of the products!

This is the darndest situation...It's almost like they don't
want to sell these products, but then why advertise 'em??
Maybe it is simply a very inept marketing effort?  Anyway,
if there is anyone who knows a Canadian Jonsered dealer
knowledgable about these mills i would like to hear about
it   :)   I hate a mystery    >:(     Thanks

I myself would shy away from any product that was that hard to get info for. If it is that hard to get info on their product, what would you ever do for service information or parts.
I am a true TREE HUGGER, if I didnt I would fall out!  chet the RETIRED arborist

I posted pictures of jreds mills after the Moultrie ag show of 2001, I think it was.  Must be back in the forum somewhere.  I remember the almost vertical bandmill.

There are two Jonsereds listed at http://www.southwestfastener.com/productsJonseredChainsaw.htm
one bandmill and the other a chainsaw mill. Perhaps they'd have some info on others.  :P
I may have been born on a turnip truck, but I didn't just fall off.

I see they have a mini skidder just like the one Tom showed us awhile back.... Costs more than my tractor did..   :o

I have a no name Bandsawmill . You dont want to go there. Stay with one of the larger more well known companies with customer support. My next mill will be an orange or red one.
