Nursing School

We learned today that one of our Granddaughters has been accepted into nursing school. Maybe I'll have my very own nurse to care for me. Maybe she can also take sewing lessons. ;)

It is an accomplishment. Sarah just got accepted as well, and is starting the RN program in August. She has already put in several years of study and wait time, just to get in, and I am sure the same is true for your granddaughter.

From my point of view, there is nothing better than a well trained motivated nurse to provide patient care. They are, in my view, given the hours and weekends they work, vastly underpaid. The reward in patient satisfaction is real, and those that choose this profession bank that more then they bank $.

What are the perks?? Well, I love the fact that nurses can travel anywhere and find jobs. There are even visiting nursing programs which permit nurses to go to some exciting places that they might never visit (many for months at a time). So if nurses are not tied down with husbands and kids, they have the world open to them. It's a great opportunity to go places when they are young, meet people and experience lots of different corners of society, and still get paid for it.

Guess I shoulda checked your age on the post's ID! Well, looks like traveling around the world with her nursing degree may not apply to her! Congrats again! Glad I could take a few years off for her....it's the least a surgeon could do.

It's OK Doc.

Even in person people think she's still only 18 or 20, and she's almost 33. They used to think she was 14 when we got married. She's used to it.
We don't have kids, and traveling is still on the table.
