It sometimes happens when you least expect it.  I always wear a weightlifters belt, but a wrong twist and you instantly know.

Belts can be bad because they may compensate for weak or not properly warmed up muscles.  The chainsaw did me in early this morning sawing yard stuff for the Magicwoman.  I was going over later this morning to complete my foundation but now maybe tomorrow.   :-\

I have a fairly large SYP, ERC, Oak saw job beginning Friday morning, so I've gotta get better.

Magicman,

I've got a prescription for ETODOLAC, 400MG to take for arthritis.  Originally got the prescription for my back.  One morning, one evening and will usually clear it up in two days.  Doctorb probably knows more about it then I but works for me.

It's high in the hip.  I don't think joints, just muscle.  I hope that it is OK tomorrow so I can get back to my foundation.

Sorry to hear that, MM.  I literally feel your pain.  Almost everyday of my life is like that and it truly, truly sucks.  But hey, nothing to it but to keep goin'.

Hey MM stirring mortar and the normal stoop over and swing with block laying is an accumalative ache according to a freind of mine who lays both brick and block. Hope you can get back at it soon also.

Sorry, MM.

For years, I would have these flare ups. Finally got into a chiropractor and he took care of my problems for the most part.  Every now and then, after doing some extended strenuous activity, things will begin to get pinchy on me.  But never like it used to. Sometimes I would be frozen in place in agonizing pain. :(   His advice was a rotation of ice (frozen gel pack) and moist heat.

Activities that always get me...

Long car rides
Reaching out and up for periods of time, like when painting or clipping hedges
Sitting for a couple of hours in hard chairs
Backpacks
Different beds and pillows when on trips
Working on my hands and knees for periods of time

Just thinking about these things gets me nervous sometimes. :(
I do what the little voices in my wife's head tell me to do.

I was standing crooked last night.  Kinda like a log with sweep.  I know to sleep with the hump side up and it will usually get better.  I'm on a heating pad now, so it will be OK.  The foundation blocks will wait until next week.

Good decision, MM.  Common sense ain't that common.

Your situation is a lot different than mine.  Hope you heal up quick!

So far, I think that the only degenerative problem that I have is something to do with the brain.  Every time that I try to remember what it is, I forget.   ???
