Hi everyone. I had a great day today sawing red oak. I had some good logs and made some nice lumber. Every day should be like today.

The boards in the next two pics are 12 inches wide and completly clear.

The log in this picture is the third one of the tree.

Logs like that makes sawing fun. I very seldom have fun sawing. :(

Nice! The last red oak I sawed was like that. Made some utility stair treads for a friends basement stairs.  :D The rest of the log went for peg stock.

starting out sawing really nice wood should be followed up with the best stickering job possible, if that is 8ft use min 5 stickers. 12"-18" apart starting 2" from each end and always keep your stickers going up straight :)

I sawed a log like that a few months ago, 20" and totally clear till about 4 inches from the heart. Got a bunch of 12" wide clear boards also. Gotta love it!!!

That looked like a very rewarding saw job.  Oh, the joy of opening a good log.   :)
