Ugly Boxelder

Here is an ugly boxelder that got dropped off at my place last fall, and I got around to milling it up today.
caution for burlcraft and other figured wood lovers
These pictures may cause heavy breathing and uncontrollable shaking ;) :D

Thought you would like that. I got 6 nice 3" slabs, and some nice burls off the sides 8)

Are you sure that is a log in the first pic? It looks like a giant sprouted potato. :D Nice slabs.

They are sold to a local high end wood store. My wife says I have to keep one, so I will, cause I know what's good for me.

Finally got the paycheck for the ugly boxelder ;D $764

. Not bad from a free log, and an hour or so of work. Of course I will give the giver of the log a portion of the proceeds so he won't forget me next time he has a log.

Those are awesome and the pay ain't to bad either. :D

I'd like to see some crotch wood of a big bad yellow birch. The curl in any I've seen is awesome. And I have a monster of a birch on the woodlot I can't get too unless in winter. And I have no horse and sleigh. >:( Them old timers around here sold, gave, destroyed any that were here so I couldn't make work. :D :D :D :D

You guys make me jealous sometimes. :D ;)
